Weighted Products: How can I know if it is safe for a baby to sleep in Moonboon's Weighted Products?Updated 10 months ago
Moonboon's Weighted Vest and Weighted Sleeping Bag are designed for safety, comfort and ease of use. The products are in compliance with EU standard: EN ISO 11092:2014 and are thoroughly tested against this standard. They are also certified with the OCS Blended Standard. This is your guarantee that the products are safe to use and suitable for babies and children.
The design of the weighted products ensures that the product does not ride up and that the child cannot kick it up over their head or face, so there is no risk of suffocation.
The Weighted Products have holes for the arms and are designed to stay in place. The holes are of a suitable size, which is not big enough for the elbow to squeeze through nor small enough to make it difficult to take the product on and off.
The Weighted Products are designed to support the child to sleep on their back, in accordance with the recommendations of the Danish Health Authority. The Weighted Product's increased weight can make it harder for the child to adjust their sleeping position on their own.
For safety reasons and to prevent cot death, the Weighted Products may only be used by children 8 months and older. A thumb rule is that the children should be able to turn on their own since they must be able to adjust their sleeping position and change the placement of their heads by themselves when sleeping.
We recommend always using the Weighted Products in accordance with the recommendations and instructions so as to establish the best and safest environment for your child.
If your baby can turn without help, the Weighted Products will naturally follow the body without being cumbersome.
The Weighted Products have a built-in Secure Cell System, which divides the small glass beads into small compartments, ensuring an even distribution of the weight across the body. The polyester fibre filling and small glass beads are safely contained in small compartments together with interlock material on the outside and single jersey on the inside of the lining.
